HOME ENVIRONMENT

Your home should be a place you want to be.  It should be comfortable, with your kind of peace, but also be a place to explore new challenges at your pace.

When trying to make your home a healthy place, for both your body and mind, there are many things you can do!

Create a quiet place:  Get away from the noise, focus on what needs the attention. Meditate, read, exercise, paint or draw, learn something you have always wanted to know in your quiet place.

Keep healthy foods:  If you don't put the junk food in your house, you likely won't eat junk food!  Buy the unprocessed fruits, veggies, nuts, grains, and meats from the perimeter of the grocery store, and steer clear of the processed "junk food" of the middle aisles.  This tactic alone can really help insure that you get the healthy foods into your home.

Have a routine:  A change in daily happenings often leads one to stress, as they do not know what might happen the next day, and therefore are not prepared for it.  Set a routine for waking up, going to bed, meal times, exercise, and quiet time. Plan for the next day, and prepare for it.

Clean the house:  A dirty, cluttered house is hard to get anything done in. Most people don't work well in cluttered environments. If there is no sense to how things are put together around you, you may never feel put together.  Put on some music and clean it.  It can be active, and leave an accomplished feeling. It also takes something off the to-do list, and allows you to tend to other matters.

Plant a garden:  Many people find solace in gardening.  It is peaceful, it is a project that brings sense of accomplishment, it is absolutely educational, and it provides for more healthy food in the kitchen!  Some good dirt, sun, seeds, water and a place to put it are all you need!
